Retired Registered Nurse & Clinical Administrator. Betty is a past member of many professional Nursing Organizations. She served as Chair and two times Secretary of Area Planning Advisory Council of Harris County Area Agency on Aging; Board member of Hiep Luc, a Vietnamese Housing Group and Golden Bamboo Village (retirement living for Asian-American Seniors); served on Editorial Board for Patient Education of professional journals and the National Cancer Institute; appointed by Congressman Ted Poe to 2005 White House Conference on Aging; appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Joint Legislative Committee on Aging; founding member of an Alzheimer’s Support Group in Northwoods Presbyterian Church, Houston; member of the Coalition for Texans with Disabilities; founding member, National Association Intravenous Therapy; member of Spring Creek Daughters of the American Revolution; authors a weekly column for the Galveston County Daily News; and member of West Isle Presbyterian Church, Galveston.

She received the Quality Assurance Award – HMSS, Inc. and named emeritus to the President’s Circle Secom LTD, Japan. Betty is the recipient of the Valley Award for Community Service in Senior Advocacy from the University of Texas School of Nursing .

Betty and her late husband,  Joseph, have 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
