Pat J. Porter graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA degree in 1959. She has worked in various industries in different positions of administration from 1954. She has had a diversified background in television, legal, oil and gas, automotive parts distribution and ownership/management of several retail establishments, advertising and most recently, ranching, living on Quail Trace Ranch in Borden County, Texas.
She has been involved with various organizations for over 20 years at local, state and national levels: Member and Chair, Permian Basin Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council; Member and Chair, Citizens Advisory Council, Texas Department on Aging, (now Department of Aging and Disability Services); Former Member, Advisory Council to Non-Profit Management Center of Permian Basin Area Foundation; Member Legislative Committee, Texas Wildlife Association and currently serves as Chair, Borden County Appraisal Review Board.
Pat received the 14th TSHL Award for Service and the Speaker’s Commendation Award. She received the 2011 Impact Award, National Private Duty Association – Texas Chapter.
Pat is a native of Big Spring, Texas, is widowed and has two adult daughters.
